PCC Partnership Achieves Mutual Goal: Sustainable Future
PCC Natural Markets'commitment to organic, natural food sustainability reflects Northwest Center’s goal of sustaining services for people with disabilities.
In 2002, PCC hired Adley (a Northwest Center client) as a courtesy clerk. For the past seven years, he has been a mainstay, happily greeting and bagging groceries for PCC’s customers. Every day, customers and staff alike benefit from Adley’s great customer service and willingness to lend a hand wherever needed.
Then in 2004, PCC stepped up again by becoming one of our valued clothing donation bin hosts. The donations collected from the bins at the West Seattle and View Ridge stores make a significant contribution to our programs. Not only are these donations of reusable clothing diverted from local landfills, they also help fund our services for kids and adults with disabilities.
The ongoing partnership of client employment and hosted clothing bins demonstrates PCC’s dedication to Northwest Center, sustainable causes, and to the local communities in which they do business.
It’s a win – win for all!!!
PEMCO Van Brings Donations to Northwest Center
Northwest Center recently received a visit by the PEMCO event van: WALLY 1. WALLY stands for We're A Lot Like You—A Little Different. Different, that is...their van was stuffed full of clothing donations. The PEMCO Insurance Seattle and Lynnwood offices hosted a clothing drive where the employees generously donated 920 pounds of clothing. A big thanks goes out to PEMCO for supporting the local community!
We appreciate valued partnerships like this one, which help support Northwest Center's local programs for people with disabilities. By raising funds through the donations of clothing and household goods, we are able to help children and adults with disabilities reach their fullest potential.
